15 Wing Moose Jaw

Journées du patrimoine/Heritage days: Celebrating Saskatchewan heritage with Newcomers

Let’s have fun and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the great war.

The 13th annual Heritage Days will take place at the Canadian Forces base in Moose Jaw (15 Wing Moose Jaw) on September 29th, 2018. The French historical society invites you to participate in the festivities FREE OF CHARGE 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

This family friendly event features activities and entertainment for all ages. Our organization is particularly proud to present theatrical performances written and played by local youth. Children will discover how the Great War helped form our nation’s identity through fun and educational games. From the Prairies to the trenches, from the aviation to the merchant navy…. Great partners like Parks Canada and the Western Development Museum will be present to entertain you!

For adults, there will be a presentation by the skilled volunteers of the Vimy Flight Team, as well as historical films prepared by the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan which show the impact of the First World War on the prairies, recorded in both French and English. Lunch will be available for purchase. In partnership with the Legion, the event will close with a commemorative bonfire.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, by email at, or by telephone at 306-565-0052.
