BRIDGES: Building Relationships through Intercultural Dialogue and Growing Engagement

Program Agenda:

Day 1: Intercultural Communication and Cultural sharing

When: Tuesday March 29, 2016  |  Time: 12:00 PM to 5 PM
Where: Regina Open Door Society 2220-12th Ave (4th floor) (Bank of Canada Building)

Day 2: Field trip to Touchwood Medicine Ranch at Gordon First Nation Reserve

When: Wednesday March 30, 2016  |  Time: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Bus Pick-Up at 2 locations:
1) Regina Open Door Society at 2220-12th Ave (4th floor) (Bank of Canada Building)
2) Newo Yotina Friendship Centre at 445 Winnipeg Street

Learning and fun activities:

  • Wagon Ride to Buffalo Ranch
  • Tour of the reserve
  • Learn how to build tipis
  • Learn about treaty, residential schools and Indian Act

Day 3: Community Service and Celebration

When: Thursday March 31, 2016  |  Time: 12:00 PM to 6 PM
Where: Newo Yotina Friendship Centre 445 Winnipeg Street

Learn and fun activities:

  • Volunteering at Regina Food Bank (from 1:30 to 3:30 PM)
  • Arts and crafts
  • Talking Circle
  • Celebration food will be provided

Who can participate?

This program is open to Indigenous and Newcomer Youth ages 13 – 21. If youth are under 18, consent from a legal parent/guardian is required.


Registration is FREE. Every participant MUST register and sign a liability waiver. REGISTER BY MARCH 20, 2016
