Saskatchewan’s provincial government announced Tuesday that it will provide $60,000 for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
“We know that the actual dollar figure could be significantly larger or significantly smaller. It’s a number that we believe will address some of the concerns,” said Deputy Premier Ken Krawetz, who made the announcement.
The decision to donate funds to the Ukraine Assistance account – which is managed by charities such as Ukrainian Canadian Social Services of Canada – was made after the government received a report on Monday from the province’s Saskatchewan-Ukraine Relations Advisory Committee, he said.
“The knowledge that we have is that it is a very good group that ensures that the dollars are directed to the right place,” Krawetz said. More>>>
