Bend It Like Beckham Movie Showing & Newcomer Youth Panel

Connecting Grids Regional Immigration Partnership is hosting two free movie showings of Bend it Like Beckham, “A kaleidoscope of colour and culture clash humorously as an Indian family in London tries to raise their soccer-playing daughter in a traditional way.” Before the movie begins, there will be three newcomer youth aged 19-22 speaking about their own lived experiences immigrating to the area as youth. There will be discussions regarding challenges and successes. The morning showing is available only to local schools for students in grade 9 or 10, but the evening showing is open to the public.
