Hiroshima & Nagasaki Peace Day

The Saskatoon Japanese Association invites the community to its annual Hiroshima & Nagasaki Peace Day event, taking place on Saturday, August 9, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Remai Modern.

This commemorative event honours the victims and survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki while providing an opportunity to reflect on the importance of peace, remembrance, and hope for the future. Through education, culture, and community, we come together to remember the past and promote a more peaceful future.

The afternoon will include an origami crane-making workshop, an educational display, a screening of Giovanni’s Island, a commemorative ceremony featuring guest speakers, and a performance by Living Sky Taiko. Community members of all ages are welcome to attend this free event.
