Pathways: Indigenous Engagement with John Lagimodiere

Like most people, you may be concerned that a virtual Indigenous awareness seminar might be a challenge, but we can assure you the session will fly by. You will leave the seminar informed and entertained, and you will have an entirely new and practical perspective on working with First Nation and Métis people. Using humour and history, the facilitator will guide you through 500 years of contact that relates to western Canada’s Indigenous population.

Though some difficult history like residential schools is discussed, the seminar ends on a positive note as we examine how to work together in this era of reconciliation. We will demystify some protocols, get some insight into hiring and retaining Indigenous people and end with some discussion on how to be an ally.
