The Prairie Central District and the Davidson United Church invite you to join us on July 30, 2021 from 1:30-4:00 at the United Church in Davidson to take part in a KAIROS Blanket Exercise (KBE).
Developed in collaboration with Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers and educators, the KAIROS Blanket Exercise (KBE) is an interactive and experiential tool that explores the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in the land we now know as Canada.
The exercise builds awareness and understanding of our shared history as Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada by having participants literally walk through situations that include pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization, resistance, and the Residential School system.
By engaging on an emotional and intellectual level, the KAIROS Blanket Exercise effectively educates while increasing empathy. It reaches both the mind and the heart. It is contributing to a movement for reconciliation through education across the country.
Registration is required prior to July 28th.
There is no charge to attend this workshop.
Please connect if you have questions or wish to inquire more about the KBE.
