Guest Speaker: Lorne Kequahtooway
Lorne is originally from Zagime Anishinabek First Nation in Treaty Four Territory, Lorne Kequahtooway is dedicated to sharing and preserving his culture with others in Saskatchewan. Lorne is co-founder of Buffalo People Arts Institute where he currently teaches cultural awareness through storytelling and community engagement around an interactive buffalo hide-tanning experience.
The Importance of Indigenous Culture & Ceremony
Lorne is a powerful storyteller. He will be sharing his knowledge about Indigenous ceremonies, such as smudging and pipe ceremony, incorporating his personal experiences. He will explain how learning and practicing his culture has saved his life and led him to discover his identity and purpose.
