1. 2026 MCoS Board Nominations

MCoS is seeking members to join our Board of Directors. This is an opportunity to share your perspectives, learn, and make decisions in the interests of the provincial multicultural community.

MCoS seeks board members who are committed to multicultural values and reflect the diversity of the province. In June 2026, the President, Vice President and three Directors-at-large positions are up for election. All positions are two-year terms. We are seeking nominations for:

• • President (2-year)
  • Vice President (2-year)
  • Director-at-large (3, 2-year)

MCoS constitution states:

• In order to run for the positions of President or Vice President, a member must have served least one term on the MCoS board within the past five years.
• Nominees must be members in good standing, either individual or belonging to a member organization in good standing.
• All candidates must qualify to be a director of a non-profit corporation according to the The Non-Profit Corporations Act, 1995. Please see Nominations form for qualifications.
• If you are interested in seeking election to the policy governance board, please read the nomination package and complete a 2026 MCoS Nomination form by May 26. Please note that MCoS accepts nominations from the floor during the AGM. There will be an online Q&A session  – Monday, May 11, 2026, 7:00 p.m-8:00 p.m. Register here . This is highly recommended for potential nominees.
• Candidates will be asked to speak to their nomination at the AGM. Candidate will be given 1-2 minutes to outline to the membership their skills and experiences that will assist them in the position for which they are applying

2. Nomination Package

All prospective candidates should read the Nomination Package. It is very important that any candidates fully understand the role and responsibilities to which they are committing. It includes information on:

• Board roles (for all Directors and for positions)
• MCoS Ends
• Policy Governance, which is MCoS’ chosen governing style
• Conflict of Interest Policy
• Time commitment

3. MCoS Board of Directors Nomination Form

Candidates can nominate themselves. The Past President will accept applications until Tuesday, May 26, 2026. MCoS will accept nominations from the floor.

Nominees must be members in good standing, either individual or belonging to a member organization in good standing.

Remember:  In order for the membership to be informed about candidates, we will circulate nominations, along with financial statements and the annual report, prior to the annual general meeting. If the event proceeds in person, MCoS will accept nominations from the floor.
