Saskatchewan Multicultural Week is celebrated annually to acknowledge the benefits of multiculturalism as seen in the enrichment and contributions of many individuals, groups, and communities in Saskatchewan.

This year’s campaign allows the people of Saskatchewan to share successful examples of various communities and cultures that reside here and make – #SKStrong – through their values, contributions, beliefs, and actions.

The theme

Saskatchewan Multicultural Week promotes the advantages of multiculturalism. This year’s theme- “Together We Make Saskatchewan Strong” expresses the contributions of many individuals and groups that enrich Saskatchewan communities.

Why do we need to talk about multiculturalism?

During the pandemic and global movements for justice, we have become increasingly aware of our common humanity, the collective efforts of those from many cultures, and the costs of ongoing inequities. Individuals and organizations have started conversations about racism and oppression that will allow us to build a solid foundation for equitable and inclusive communities.

#TogetherWeMakeSaskatchewanStrong

We encourage you to engage in conversations that focus on our diversity, collective strength and contributions, as well as our challenges because respectful relationships and addressing social justice issues are essential for everyone to be valued for all our identities.

What can I do to support the campaign?

Let’s Talk, Listen and Act to make #SKStrong

Saskatchewan has so much to celebrate and there are so many stories from people of various backgrounds that make #SKStrong.

Join the conversation and help us spread the word!

Throughout Multicultural Week we want the message of multiculturalism, strength, and diversity to be spread far and wide so we’re encouraging you to join us in sharing on social media. Create your own message about the importance of multiculturalism, about what you feel makes #SKStrong or share one of our posts from November 19th -27th, 2022 to be entered to win a vibrant and diverse 2023 multifaith calendar!

Be sure to tag us in your post or share and also use the hashtag #SKStrong to have your entry counted! Please note that we’re only able to see posts, hashtags and shares from public accounts but if you’ve created a post or shared one of ours throughout Multicultural Week and wish to be entered please just message us a screenshot of your post. A draw will take place on November 28th and the winner will be contacted via social media.

Share your voice and engage in meaningful conversations that focus on our diversity, collective strength and contributions, as well as our challenges, because respectful relationships and addressing social justice issues are essential for everyone to be valued for all our identities.

MCoS will share videos from Saskatchewan people on our website and social media. Please watch, comment, and share with #SKStrong.
