Advocate for Multicultural Values with Election Candidates in the Upcoming Federal Election
On April 28, 2025, Canada will vote in a federal election.
MCoS’ vision is “Multiculturalism is central to the cultural, economic, social and political life of Saskatchewan”. We advocate for decision-makers and potential decision-makers at all levels of government to consider the multicultural values in their platforms and choices if elected.
We encourage you to use your voice to engage with candidates in your areas who are asking for your vote. We have provided questions based in the multicultural values to start conversations.
- How will you foster and support welcoming and inclusive communities? What engagement processes will you commit to in order to involve people who are often marginalized in decision making? What are you going to do to ensure those voices are heard and involved in decisions that impact their lives?
- How will your government continue to support and deepen the work of the Federal Anti-Racism Secretariat?
- How will you continue or increase the support of Canadian Heritage’s Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program?
- How will your government honour treaty relations, UNDRIP, and engage in nation-to-nation relationships with Indigenous governments?
