Colonialism on Canvas is an opportunity to use art as a medium to explore how settler colonialism has shaped our identity in Saskatchewan.

Intercultural Connections and Anti-Racism Engagement (ICARE) is proud to introduce Every Bead Counts with Jesska Surjik. Over the course of two-hours, Jesska will provide beading basics while also sharing with us how creating art has been a form of reclaiming identity.

Meet Jesska Surjik, a passionate Métis artist, devoted mother, and aspiring educator on a mission to infuse the world with kindness and warmth through her art. Currently pursuing studies in Education, Jesska’s journey as an artist has been an exploration of the magic within the world around her.
