On April 1, 2026, Central Collegiate Institute in Moose Jaw held their annual Cultural Fair the entire school with over 600 students and community members from across the city were in attendance!
At the fair, students from English language art and social studies classes, Indigenous students, exchange students and any other students interested in showcasing their culture or heritage, including countries like Spain, Greece, Turkey, India, Congo and Sudan, designed informational posters connected to their heritage.

Further, corresponding cultural food was distributed- with over 1000 samples served to guests in the community.
“We decided to move the [annual] fair to the spring this year and it was such a great success,” Candice Krawitz, project coordinator, said.
“The whole school participated in the Culture Fair and we invited our community to attend. Central Collegiate has such a diverse population, that the event allowed students and families to come together to celebrate our unique voices and identities,” Krawitz added.

In addition, students further engaged with and shared their cultures with others, by wearing traditional clothing and performing on stage.
Lastly, a local reporter, TJ England at DiscoverMooseJaw.com, came to cover the event, writing that, “The gym at Central Collegiate was full of excitement, food and smiles April 1 as students and community members came together to celebrate cultures from around the world.”
