Exploring the World of Cultural Competence

We are excited to announce a Cultural Competence training, in partnership with CultureAlly. CultureAlly is a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) company specializing in impactful and engaging DEI trainings to build more inclusive environments.

In this session, participants will gain an understanding of the importance of inclusive language, recognizing and avoiding microaggressions, and developing intercultural competency skills. Participants will learn about the importance of avoiding microaggressions and the impact they can have. The training will then focus on developing intercultural competency skills, including understanding different cultural norms and practices, being aware of one’s own cultural biases, and learning effective communication strategies for working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Topics to be covered

  • The importance of inclusive language in the workplace.
  • How to identify and recognize our own cultural biases.
  • Strategies for communication in working with diverse teams.
